FaithWorks Groups

Small Groups are a traditional way to build working relationships in Christ's Church. They take many forms. There are limitless possibilities. What's important is they build faith and transform lives both within the group and outside of the group.

UMC Santa Cruz has a number of Faithworks Groups. Some are described on this page, some are study groups that you can read about on the Classes page. Some have been going on for a long time, some are new. Consider building relationships by joining a Faithworks group.

FaithWorks With Fiber

A prayer shawl small group ministry open to anyone who knits, crochets, or wants to learn. The group meets a few times a months to pray, share knitting/crocheting tips, and enjoy each other's company as we work on our shawls, and other knitting/crocheting projects.

Music Program

Opportunities for participating in the musical ministry of UMC Santa Cruz include the Adult Choir, the Steel Drum Choir, the Handbell Choir, the Worship Music Team, and individual solo musical presentations.

Young Disciples

The Young Disciples group consists of college age and 'twenty-somethings' and meets twice a month for bible study (1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7:30 pm at the church). They also gather at other times for fun and fellowship!

United Methodist Women

The UMC Santa Cruz Unit of the UMW meets on the 2nd Tuesday each month at 11:00 am for a business meeting, lunch, and interesting programs. The UMC Santa Cruz Unit also works on various projects with the local Santa Cruz organization Church Women United. One of the projects the UMC Santa Cruz Unit is participating in this year is making Health Kits for the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR)

Book Discussion Group

The Book Discussion Group meets monthly for lively discussions on books selected by the members. This group has been meeting regularly since July18th, 1991 and has read and discussed a wide variety of books.
